Based on the tiers of their accreditation, personnel accredited under CPAS are entitled to use the following designations and post-nominals after their names.

CPAS is targeted at personnel performing the roles and duties of a project director, manager, engineer or equivalent in the built environment. The roles and duties may include, but are not limited, the following:
• planning and execution of construction projects;
• managing the procurement of resources for a construction project; and
• overseeing the execution, progress and outcome of a construction project.
