Workshop for bamboo-based building and construction

BE-Related Events 11-Mar-2019 - 11-Mar-2019

NUS is inviting the construction industry to a workshop on Application of Engineered Bamboo Composite Products for Sustainable Construction. Bamboo is a natural renewable material resource that can be activated for building and construction applications. The workshop introduces the benefits of using bamboo-based building materials as a lighter, stronger, cheaper, and more sustainable alternative to conventional building materials. The workshop also presents various research topics on bamboo both as a natural resource and also as a engineered composite product for building and construction. One such project is “Bamboo-based Building Structures” developed at Future Cities Lab of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. Do note that this is a purely technical and high level workshop and is meant for decision makers, C-level executives, material procurement experts, and engineers with experience in building materials. Please refer to the attached program brochure for more information.
