Vector Control and Management in the Construction Industry
Presentation Synopsis:
Singapore experienced a big dengue outbreak in 2022, which saw over 32,000 cases reported. The risk of dengue transmission remains high, where weekly dengue cases have remained above 100. Stakeholders such as the construction industry continue to play a critical role in Singapore’s dengue control strategy. NEA will be sharing more on the dengue situation and the Integrated Vector Management framework that construction sites can implement to curb dengue transmission.

Mr Aaron Ng is a Manager at the Environmental Public Health Operations Group of the National Environment Agency. He is part of the team overseeing the planning and implementation of surveillance, prevention and control programmes for vector-borne diseases. Mr Aaron joined the National Environment Agency in 2013 and has since spent the last 10 years dedicated to maintaining high environmental health standards in Singapore. He has vast experience in the planning and execution of operations to tackle dengue outbreaks and rat infestation on the ground.
