About the speaker:

Chin Keong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1996 with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.  Between 1996 and 2006, he worked in the private sector as a Project Engineer and was involved in several major construction development.  He also worked several years as a Civil Engineer cum Loss Adjuster, where he investigated insurance claims arising out of losses from events such as fire, plant & machinery failures, and building structural damage due to neighbouring construction activities.

Chin Keong joined the Ministry of Manpower’s Occupational Safety And Health Division on 1 March 2006.  He has since held senior positions in the investigation units of the Occupational Safety And Health Inspectorate as well as the Work Injury Compensation Department, investigating work-related accidents within the ambit of the Workplace Safety And Health Act & the Work Injury Compensation Act respectively.

Chin Keong is currently a Deputy Director in the Occupational Safety And Health Inspectorate, where he oversees a team of WSH investigators who investigates serious and fatal workplace accidents, as well as WSH training fraud; & a team of specialist engineers enforcing compliances with the Workplace Safety And Health Act, focusing mainly on construction, Design for Safety and specialised construction trades such as formwork and scaffolds.
