2.35 pm Embarking on digital transformation with a unified platform

Synopsis:
Digitization is revolutionizing the construction industry and driving better collaboration and productivity on projects. In this session, Procore will share the importance of the starting point to embark on the digital transformation journey.  Factors to consider include change management and human resources beside technology.  Learning how some companies have implemented the right tools to the field and benefited the businesses in many ways.

Mr. Kencana has 15 years of consulting and business development experience in construction industry. Throughout his career in structural engineering consulting, he has been involved in Building, Oil & Gas Plant, Underground Tunnel MRT and Bridge Projects. Mr. Kencana has attended Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore for his Master of Science (M.Sc) in Structural Engineering and is currently doing his Master Business Administration (MBA) at Northumbria University.

Synopsis:
The future of construction will likely see more uses of Robots, Big data, Data analytics, 3D Scanning, Cloud collaboration, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, IoT, 5G, Mobile tablet, VR/AR, Drones, Wearable Technologies, etc.

One commonality among most of them is they feed on digital data. Not just any digital data, but digital data that is Accurate, Timely, Coordinated and Constructible.
 
Through customer and use cases, we hope to create awareness on how contractors and their supply chain can make operational improvement by digitalising and utilizing data from their Constructible BIM models and Cloud collaboration platform to plan and execute their work collaboratively and productively.

Construction Sector, Trimble

Mark acts as the technology consultant to customers in the precast and concrete construction sector where he advises fabricators and contractors in their implementation of BIM and Digital construction Technologies. He has managed several BIM and Precast Automation implementation projects across Southeast Asia since 2014.

Before joining Trimble, Mark led the development of Land Transport Authority’s first BIM Specification for MRT Tender and represented LTA at the National BIM Steering committee from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, as the APAC Technical Sales Manager with Autodesk, he actively promoted the adoption of model-based design in Asia Pacific.

The construction industry will be radically transformed by the use of digital technologies such as infinite cloud computing, data and analytics, site automation and machine learning over the next 3 to 10 years. This will improve the cashflow and profitability of projects, while shaping a smarter, safer, better-performing built environment that delivers on time and budget - and also attracts talent. Construction companies that embark on digital adoption will see acceleration in delivery and improve overall project productivity and profitability.
 
William Low as Head of Asia at Autodesk Construction Solutions will share his thoughts on what efforts are being undertaken by Autodesk and his team to achieve Connected Construction for the ASEAN region.
